Let's get a little up-to-date!

 December Happenings:
The socks that I turned into snow people with my mother-in-law came out so cute! I personally think my snow-woman looks like the crazy bird lady from Mary Poppins. This was another pinterest inspired project.
I could not be more proud of my husband.  We drove back sideways (I had "down" to Fort Worth but Robby geographically corrected me on my directions) to Fort Worth for Robby's graduation on December 16th.  We were so blessed by the friends and family that were there to support us.  Robby graduated with his Master's in Marriage and Family Counseling.  We learned tons from our time in seminary, and it was an incredible time of growth for us!
The McGowen clan
Our first friends we met at our apartment complex.  We had our own little supper club!

Our Christmas Tree!

Sweet Bailey, who has permanently been visiting her Grandparents and Duke!

For part of Christmas, we drove to Austin and had a fantastic time!  On Christmas Eve we continued the McGowen tradition and drew names for the gift that we open on Christmas Eve.  However, we changed things up a bit this year and all went to Target with a $15 limit to buy a gift for our person.  It was tons of fun trying to hide our gifts from each other so that no one would see what we were buying them.  The McGowens' totally spoiled us this Christmas with tons of gifts!

On Christmas day we drove to Granger, TX where my grandparents live.  We had a fun day playing our family card game- Canasta.  The whole time that we were playing, I could not help but think about when my sister and I were younger and would try to cheat by passing cards under the table...it was never successful! haha
Bring on 2012!!!!!!!  We are super pumped for the adventures life will bring us this year.  Our prayer is that God is glorified through our lives this year, and we grow more in Him daily.  This year, I tried to make more realistic new year's resolutions, so I am dedicated to eating more ice cream this year.  I have been very successful so far!  haha
We decided to go have a swanky New Year's Eve by going to Dallas and attending a fabulous party at our friend's house.  We then stayed at a hotel down town and enjoyed some champagne, cheese, bread, and strawberries from Whole Foods!  Oh how we miss Whole Foods...even though the same strawberries that are normally $.99 were $4.99 just because it is Whole Foods lol.
Well, thanks for getting a little caught up with us on our life.  Sorry for the spastic placement of pictures- I am still trying to figure out how this whole blogging format stuff works. =/  There is more to come, and Robby says that he will make his first post soon!

Celebrating Three Years

Happy 3 Years to us!!  (Many, many, more years to come)
Thank you Pinterest for inspiring this idea!  I made this for Robby for our anniversary.  The hearts represent where we met, got married, and honeymooned!

Otters!

Well, today of all days is the perfect day to start a blog with my amazing husband.  Why, you ask?  Well today is our 3 year anniversary! Whoo-hooo!  He is the most incredible man I know- Godly, handsome, smart, brave, caring, funny, honorable and the list goes on.  We love laughing and being together.   We try to pursue each other daily.  What a joy it has been to be married to this leader who I get to call all mine!  I am superbly blessed to serve this man that cherishes me everyday!  I love him with all of my heart!!!

So, since it is our anniversary, I couldn't help but think about the past three years and where it all started- Just a snidbit (with much more to come later) we were married on the beach in Cozumel!  It was beautiful! (Especially since I got to marry my best friend)  Here are a few pictures for your enjoyment!

So what is up with those otters??
Robby and I recently went to Lake Tahoe to get away together, and while we were on the plane, we were flipping through one of those magazines that is stuck in every chair.  In it we saw an adorable picture of otters with an interesting fact that I didn't know.  Apparently, sea otters hold hands to keep from drifting apart while they sleep. So, No- I do not have a crazy obsession with otters- haha!  My husband and I just loved the symbolism that can be applied behind it.  We strive to keep each other a priority in our marriage so that we don't ever lose touch with each other.  We want to always hold hands so we don't drift apart...
